Rossano Snel – Landscape EP

Rossano Snel started to study music within the float at the age of six. Later on he started to play piano and since then he tried to practice abilities on many instruments such as guitar, percussion and organ.

He has been graduated in music and played for lots of bands of many genres like Rock, Soul, Brazilian Music, Funk, Jazz, Hip Hop and Reggae. During this time he has gotten interested for studio works – creating and mixing soundtracks for short-feature movies and advertising campaings – his pleasure for musical production has pushed him to develop his own songs.

In a very clear way it is remarkable the influence of the electronic music in this job. This contact with that has started when he has begun to accompany friends and opinion formers of Porto Alegre music scene in southern Brazil. It can be noticed by a presence of Disco Music “dancefloor” elements. According to Rossano, “I have made use of this resource to put people in movement through my music because that’s it what I want. I want people get off of a kind of inertia while listening to my songs.”

Besides Landscape comes up with african-brazilian elements and also brings a solo track played on the piano and recorded alive.

Enjoy the trip!

Brazuca ! Ten Brazilian Tales You Don´t  Know Yet ! Compiled by Tahira

When people talk about new Brazilian music in Europe and America, most of the time they come up with terms like Brazilian Drum´n Bass or Baile Funk, but in the last 3 years a lot things have changed in the Brazilian music scene. There is a new community of musicians doing different stuff; trying to do something fresh.

That is what this compliations is about: it represents the new wave of Brazilian musicians. New people. New blood. Unknown artists that the current Brazilian market does not recognize, but just as talented—if not more—than main stream Brazilian artists. Brazil’s independent scene is very good and growing with articulate and innovative musicians who have learned to channel the rich and varried musical traditions of Brazil into a raw, modern sound influenced by European and American music trends.
This diverse compilation is a sampleing of the raw talent of this young and fresh brazilian scene. Some of these tracks have traditional influences; others do not. But the focus is to represent good music. That’s it!
Here you can listen to off beat tracks as Axial, TRZ + Tahira; jazz crossovers like Lavoura and Bruno Morais; the Downtempo beats of Hip Hop producer Parteum; Samba-infused rhythms of Contrafluxo and Lucas Santana;  House Music with The Greens and Projetoitagiba; and the fusion of Detroit and Soul from Andre Torquato. This compliation has sounds for everybod and for all tastes.
