EBS Diggin is a kind of label that I create last year to promote good artists from Brazil.
It started because my podcast that I do for three years now, I´ve always looking for new music. So I used to contact producers and bands that I like. And spinning their music in my show. And as a consequence of it. Some people start to ask me help them to promote their work. And some foreign DJs started to ask me about new music from here. So, that’s how the link and the idea were born.
EBS Diggin Its established in Sao Paulo/Brazil. And the releases show a little bit of what is happening in here. When people talk about new Brazilian music in Europe and America, most of the time they come up with terms like Brazilian Drum´n Bass or Baile Funk, but in the last 3 years a lot things have changed in the Brazilian music scene. There is a new community of musicians doing different stuff; trying to do something fresh.
A new wave of Brazilian musicians. New people. New blood. Unknown artists that the current Brazilian market does not recognize, but just as talented—if not more—than main stream Brazilian artists. Brazil’s independent scene is very good and growing with articulate and innovative musicians who have learned to channel the rich and varied musical traditions of Brazil into a raw, modern sound influenced by European and American music trends.
The musical focus is very wide. But always with a Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afro, Latin, Brazilian (of course) direction. From traditional music to DJs cultures mixtures.
